• Hack on the Hill (HOTH XII) is a 12 hour, beginner-friendly hackathon designed to give beginners a glimpse into what a real hackathon would be and feel like.

  • During HOTH, you can:

    • learn from workshops

    • receive technical help from mentors

    • win amazing prizes!

  • Whether you’re a hackathon veteran or you’ve never been to a hackathon before, Hack on the Hill is the best way to get involved with UCLA’s hacker community and get a feel for what it would be like to attend a real hackathon.

Requirements

To submit a project, you must include

  • video no longer than 3 minutes that presents your project. We recommend including:
    • An overview of what your project is

    • How your project relates to the theme

    • What you used to make your project

    • A demo/preview of your actual project

    • Any especially noteworthy features

  • response to the Project Overview

  • link to your code, preferably a Github repo

  • After the project overview, in "Additional Info" you will be asked to select which prize track you’d like to submit your project. You may only choose one of the following:

    • Best Web

    • Best Mobile
    • Best in Tech for Kindness (Common Experience theme)

Reminders:

  • Anything you submit must be built solely during the hacking period of HOTH.

  • Submissions must be from teams of 1 to 4 individuals, all of whom were accepted to the event, have registered on Devpost, and are not workshop instructors, mentors, or organizers.
